Free Medical Bill and EOB Tracker
Medical bills often arrive before the insurance paperwork, and the amounts do not always match. This workbook keeps every bill, Explanation of Benefits (EOB), call, and payment in one place and shows what needs your attention next. Use the Excel workbook or a Google Sheets copy. Free. No email required.
What it tracks
Each bill next to the insurer's EOB, with a Match or Review flag
Claim status as reported, and follow-ups with due dates
Payments, refunds, and how each bill was resolved
Calls and letters: who you spoke to and what they said
Documents you have or still need, plus billing and claims contacts
A dashboard of open bills and overdue follow-ups, and a year summary for a spouse, caregiver, or tax preparer
How to start
Open Start Here. It takes about 10 minutes.
Add household initials or nicknames in Settings.
Log each bill with its own Bill ID, such as B001, then add the EOB amount when it arrives.
Check the Dashboard for the next best action on each bill.
Before you pay a bill you question
Ask the provider for an itemized bill and compare it to the EOB. Call the member services number on your insurance card with questions about how a claim was processed. Many hospitals have a patient advocate or financial counselor who helps at no cost. For Medicare questions, call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227).

The fine print
This is an unofficial organizing tool. Mission-Ready Tools is not affiliated with any insurer, provider, or government agency. Claim statuses are what the organization reported; the tool does not decide coverage, what you owe, or whether a bill is correct. Nothing here is legal, medical, tax, or financial advice.
