Free Honor Guard Detail Coordinator

Most honor guard teams run on phone calls, group texts, and one person's memory. This Google Sheet puts every funeral honors detail in one place: who called, when and where to report, who has each job, who has confirmed, and what still needs doing. Free. No email required.

Works in any browser and in the Google Sheets app. Prefer Excel? Make your copy, then choose File, Download, Microsoft Excel.

What it tracks

  • Dashboard: what needs you, one "Do this next" line, and your next 10 details

  • Details: one row per detail, with report time, place, honors requested, who receives the flag, and how many people you need

  • Assignments: who has which job. Flags anyone inactive, unavailable, listed twice, or booked twice the same day

  • Team, To Do, Contacts, and Gear: members and refresher dates, calls with due dates, funeral homes and cemeteries, flags and uniforms

  • Print: a one-page sheet per detail for the team

How to start

  1. Add your members on Team.

  2. When a call comes in, add one row on Details.

  3. Assign people on Assignments and mark who confirmed.

  4. Open the Dashboard first every time. It tells you what to do next.

Sharing with your team

Make your copy, then share it by email with your coordinators as editors. Avoid "Anyone with the link." It holds names and phone numbers.

Your branch and honors program decide the rules

This is an organizing aid only. It does not decide who qualifies for military funeral honors, how the ceremony is performed, or who is trained. Your branch, post, or honors program decides. Store only what your team already collects. Never type Social Security numbers or passwords.
