GI Bill Tracker Start Here page showing months left from VA, planned months, and items that need attention

Free GI Bill Tracker

Not sure how many months you have left, or whether your plan fits before it runs out? Keep your VA balance, every term, and what you are waiting on in one place. Free. No email required.

What it helps you do

  • See your months left from VA, your plan, and what needs attention on one Start Here page

  • Record each term and the months VA says it used

  • Plan future terms with your own estimates, kept separate from VA's numbers, and see whether your plan fits

  • Get flagged when a term ends and your balance needs updating, or a term starts soon and your school has not certified it

  • Log payments, follow up on anything you are waiting on, and work through a checklist if you change schools

How to start

  1. Download the workbook and read How to Use. It takes 2 minutes.

  2. On VA.gov, use Check remaining benefits and copy your months and days left onto My Benefit.

  3. Add each term on Terms. Add future terms on Planning if you want to plan ahead.

  4. Check Start Here. After each term ends, update your balance from VA.gov.

The fine print

This is an unofficial planning and organization aid. Mission-Ready Tools is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the VA, DoD, any school, or any government agency. It does not decide eligibility or how much entitlement a term uses, and it is not legal or financial advice. Your VA records and Statement of Benefits are the record. Verify everything at VA.gov or with your school certifying official before you act.
